Congratulations to the South East junior volleyball squads who went to Norwich to represent our region at the Inter regional finals last weekend. With young teams entered in each age group, this was to prove a valuable opportunity for some fast-track volleyball development. Our best hopes for success lay with last year's runners up, the U16 girls. With Jess Grimson back from injury and national league experience from Narmina Hassanova and Maria Frost, confidence was high despite losing Susan Hoare to the England Junior program. Competition was fierce but consistent and accurate setting from Frost and Isobel Fumagalli helped take victories against representatives from London, West Midlands East Midlands and the East. Unfortunately the team from the South West proved too strong and we went down narrowly by 2 sets (25:22, 25:23).
