Congratulations go the Brighton Sharks and the Worthing Devils who this weekend have been Crowned as South East England Regional Champions. Both teams fort,  very hard against some very strong opposition over the course of the two days to make it to the finals.

Durrington High School playing under the name of its partner club, Ashcombe, Volleyball Club, reached the National Under 16 Volleyball 2009 Finals for the second year running without dropping a set at The University of Nottingham on Saturday 7th March. The side bases training at Durrington High School on Monday and Fridays and eight out of the ten players are students at the school.

The monthly training sessions for the South East junior squads have been a real success in 2008-9. The increase in numbers is due to the influx of new junior players from Southampton, Newbury and Portsmouth along with the support of new coaches from these areas joining the players from West Sussex and Surrey.
Training sessions and tournaments from September 2008 to February 2009 were held at The Ashcombe Centre and Trinity School, Newbury and each session attracted around 50 young players.

SEVA cup 2009  - It will be held the weekend 25 / 26th at Ashcombe and we will also be using the court at Friends Provident.  As previous stated the Saturday will be 25 minute single set timed matches. The Semi finals and finals to be held on the Sunday will be 5 set as per national league and some local leagues. Additional on the Sunday from 1pm we will be holding a junior competition for U17 Boys and U16 Girls. (please note:- I am still looking for a court so that there can be a training session for the other juniors and I will update the junior coaches as and when I have details)
